We're thrilled to announce that our friends at Rochdale Pioneers Museum have received national recognition as part of the 100 Irreplaceable Places of Heritage in England

The beautifully ornate room where the awards took place

The museum team were invited to the Victoria and Albert Museum in London last week by Historic England to celebrate their inclusion in the brand new book. Titled 'Irreplaceable: A History of England in 100 places' the museum is included as one of ten places under the Industry, Trade and Commerce category, a phenomenal achievement when considering that the category received 800 nominations!

Tristram Hunt speaking

The event featured a prestigious line up of speakers including Duncan Wilson; the CEO of Historic England, Sir Laurie Magnus; the chairman of English Heritage and Tristram Hunt; V&A Director and category judge. It was also the perfect opportunity for staff of all the featured institutions to look at the book and talk to other institutions and industry professionals about the exciting work all attendees are doing.

We hope you'll join us in saying congratulations to the fantastic Museum team, and if you've still not been for a visit, then now is the perfect time!
